New Jersey has lost it's most recent shot to get sports books through legislation. There's a Hail Mary chance of getting getting the law passed as Christie will be appealing his latest federal district court defeat to the same court of appeals which already rejected attempts to bring in sports betting. The state's only play is to make an appeal in federal court and ask Congress to pass a law. The Republican Congress is unlikely to approve anything Obama wants, regardless of where the policies originated.
